Your measurements are personal. Body Measurement Tracker is built so you can track progress privately on your phone — and, when you’re ready, back them up so they aren’t tied to a single device.

Local by default

When you first use the app, your measurements live on this device. You don’t need an account to start logging. That keeps things simple.

Local-first is intentional: open the app, log a waist or weight, see your history. No need to create an account.

What can go wrong without a backup

Because the data starts on one device, a few everyday situations can put it at risk:

You switch to a new phone and don’t transfer the old one carefully
The phone is lost, stolen, or damaged
The app is uninstalled, or app data is cleared

In those cases, measurements that only existed on that device may be gone. Signing in and turning on backup is how you protect against that.

What sign-in and backup do

Signing in connects your measurements to a secure cloud backup tied to your account. After that:

Your history can sync across devices you sign into, even between Android and iOS
You can restore after a new install or a new phone
Your progress isn’t stuck on hardware that might fail

You stay in control of when to sign in.
